What You Should Know About Weight Trainers and Weight Training…

Weight trainer and weight training confuses and misleads us. I hate these terms. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them. Long since are the days when we thought about working out and reaching our goals in terms of pushing weights, heavy or light. Body Building, body shaping, fat loss, training for a sport, or reaching any of your goals, is actually done by Resistance Training.

Resistance training is different than weight training. Yes, weight training has resistance.
Dumbbells being pushed away from your body and fighting gravity = resistance. Now
here’s the kicker. If you think of resistance training, you have way more options! You can use tubing and you can pull, push, twist, extend, lengthen, stretch and you can do it all from multiple angles: high to low, low to high, off the center of your body, perpendicular, angled, horizontal, vertical….

You also have other options. Body weight, medicine balls, kettle-bells, partner
exercises…. And so many more.

If you don’t know much about programs and functional training, I’ll help you with it a
little. The more options you have, the more tools, the more exercises, the FASTER you reach your goals! Using these types of options in a functional way, not only increases
your odds in reaching your goals sooner but also, makes a program more interesting,
ever changing and supports, not only your goals but sustainability for the future!

When considering your options so you can get help and reach your goals, start to think
a little more about new science, new advances in fitness and don’t think too much about
the old Arnold Schwarzenegger days. We don’t train like that anymore. Why? It’s
simple, Schwarzenegger and the boys used to spend hours in the gym and their goals
were a lot different than yours.

So try to spend a little less time following along with the “traditional” and going to your
local chain gym and start expanding your vocabulary on the subject! By picking up a few new terms like resistance training and understanding them correctly, you will reach your goals faster!
