Weight Watchers

I have to say, I’m pretty impressed.  People are smart and Weight Watchers is getting it.  They’ve made some changes in the past few years and their clients are reaping the benefits.  They are talking about and encouraging, not just food choices but, behavior, support and exercise.  It’s even more specific with honing in on your lifestyle than ever before.

Wow.  Finally…

Now here’s the problem…

NO MATTER what “Fad” diet, old or new, these are just static diets.  If you pick up a book and read your new plan, if you sign up on-line and start your new plan, if you go join a support group like this, you are using a generic plan.  This is the ‘one size fits all’ mentality.  It’s close to what you need but it’s not specific for you.  Let me remind you, they punch in your info and hand you your package.  If there was no looking in to your history and no working numbers and math, then it wasn’t specifically created for you!

Yes, I know that Suzy’s got less points than you and Jody has a few more but, unless it is really honed in to you, how can it actually fit you right!  I don’t know about you but the last time I went shopping, I wanted my new jeans to fit my butt perfectly.  Not close.  Not ‘I wish they were an inch tighter on the top part of my hips”.  PERFECT.

You had better believe that your nutritional program (by the way… not diet) better fit you perfectly!

Plans like Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig are great everyone.  I’m here to tell you that they have worked for years.  But how many people, proportionately, go all the way? Do they reach the goals and stay there?  I personally don’t think any one should endure a 60 pound weight loss, just to gain a bunch back and worse… more!

We’ve had countless clients from Dr. Bernstein’s, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig….

THEY ALL NEEDED MORE.

And we took them there.  My point is not that these plans don’t work.  Rather that, the plan you chose had better help you reach your goals and KEEP YOUR GOALS.  Ensure you know what your goals are and look around you in the support meetings.  Look at the people who tell you their plan is working great.  Are people (Actually) reaching the goals that you would have yourself achieve?

Nutrition and Fitness programs are a dime a dozen.  It’s a market that is over saturated with big money businesses, personal trainers and know-it-alls trying to capitalize on you.

Take the time to look at what is real.  Make sure that it fits both, in to your budget and your time restraints.  Make sure it is livable, no matter what.

And make sure it’s right for you.
